Immerse yourself in the character of Le Marche whilst staying in this beautiful villa set in the rolling hills of Macerata, close to idyllic villages, historic towns and the beaches of the Adriatic coastline.
This recently restored farmhouse for up to 10 guests is over 250 years old yet there’s a contemporary and minimalist vibe across its calming and wonderfully designed interiors. Presented as two apartments rented as a whole, guests can expect a refined sense of style with a perfect mix of traditional and modern furnishings alongside touches of vintage charm. On the ground floor an especially spacious living-dining and kitchen allows for sociable gatherings, whilst upstairs there’s a pretty kitchen and lounge perfect for simple breakfasts and good coffee.
Time stands still as you gaze out to the hills of vineyards and farmland surrounding you, so typical of Le Marche’s verdant landscapes. Seek shade by the olive trees with a good book before working out in the fitness room, then cool off in the stylish swimming pool with such glorious views.
Gather together with family and friends as you dine al-fresco under the pergola with home-made pizza from the wood-burning oven or allow the local cook to create some traditional Le Marche fare such as Lasagna Vincisgrassi served alongside wine produced from local vineyards.
Discover restaurants, café-bars and gelaterias just over a 5-minute drive away in local villages or drive to Macerata, home to one of Italy’s oldest universities, with its grand piazza, medieval lanes and Sferisterio arena which hosts an annual opera festival in August.
Then there’s the beaches of the Adriatic close by whether you’re seeking summer lidos, walks and cycle rides along the coastal promenade or beachside restaurants serving freshly caught fish and brodetto. A little further afield towards Ancona, the Riviera del Conero is a must-see with its idyllic hard-to-reach bays, canoeing and sailing opportunities, private boat excursions and superb hiking and cycling trails.
Away from the coast, there’s a wealth of enchanting hilltop villages, further historic towns and undulating landscapes of hills growing vines, sunflowers and olives – Le Marche seems to magically capture the outstanding natural beauty and cultural richness of central Italy.
